So many examples of QB's getting crazy money and then the team goes backwards. Flacco being the low hanging fruit that everyone remembers

This season will be KC's first with a major cap hit because of Mahomes. Tyreek Hill had to go, I'm sure there were others. Mahomes' cap hit went from 7.4 to 35.8

Next year the Bills join that fraternity, with Allen's cap hit going from 10,000,000 in 2021, to 16,000,000 this year to 40,000,000 next year. Hence I say their window is closed after 2022.

Super bowl quarterbacks are either

1) under a rookie contract
2) Tom Brady who takes less money b/c his wife is rich

Stafford last year was the exception as i have no clue how the rams fit all those players under the cap??

When the Rams were playing out their last 4 years in St. Louis in a lie---they had planned to move to LA all along, it was proven in documents and emails---they never, ever, picked up players that could have helped and claimed "salary cap issues".

NOW, in Los Angeles, somehow, they keep picking up LOTS of all pro caliber players from other teams one way or another and pay them top dollar, no problem.

I understand why QB's take as much as they can. The NFL can be a short career. You can be a QB like Andrew Luck who right now should be signing a $40 million a year contract. If you take less to get a ring and get hurt you are never getting that money back. I understand Brady's wife is wealthy but Tom earned a fortune from longevity plus endorsements. It's true you basically have to win a ring on that rookie contract. They are under enormous pressure from the players union to not take less. Tom is the NFL so he can tell the union he will do what he wants. It's also the agents that want the most money so they get a bigger commission. The league is going to have to do something because it's in their best interest for those veteran star QB's to win Super Bowl rings.

Stafford's cap hit is 13,500,000 in 2022 and 20,000,000 in 2023. In 2024 it jumps to 40,000,000

It was 20,000,000 in 2021, putting him 9th on the list

I don't know how they arrive at cap hits, it's NFL Math

Rams have this year and next before they're fucked
